Banjar Hot Springs – Air Panas – Natures own Spa is just 5km southwest of Lovina in the north of Bali.

It has become a retreat and also a recreational area for locals and visitors.

It was great to partake in what the locals have been doing for centuries. This spa is small authentic and felt like time had stood still (which is a challenge to find in bustling Kuta).

We visited these hot springs when we were staying in Lovina. These sacred springs are set in a landscaped garden. The water temp was a warm 37 degrees with apparent therapeutic healing properties. These springs are constructed around a hot water source. Within this three tiered structure the initial pool is a small pool with eight dragon spouts with an adjoining larger central pool. The ancient pool is fantastic and I even managed a head massge from the spout of a dragon ! There are 4 main pool areas with a restaurant (and wifi) restrooms lockers and changing rooms.

This little hidden oasis is a great place to relax. The gardens and stonework reflect the beautiful Balinese architecture

The clothing and souvenier vendors on the way to the springs can be pretty intense !

Only $1USD entry fee

I encourage you to visit early morning to avoid the crowds and the midday heat.

Here’s the blurb about my big life and I’m so glad that you are here.

My traveling life started 25 years ago leaving my hometown of Broken Hill (not knowing how to use a washing machine) to take the right of passage (now referred to as a gap year) to live work and travel through Europe.
